LUMAG invests in R&D

In October the Research & Development Department of LUMAG enterprise purchased a Corrsys-Datron measuring system according to its investment plan. This device is for traction parameters measuring, in particular to measure a braking efficiency. The system consists of data canvassing station of μEEP-11 with a TurboLab Dynamics program, a Correvit L-400 optimeter for no touch, optical and no slide measurement of longitudinal dynamics, brake fluid pressure pick-up with a built-in temperature sensor, a sensor of forces on brake pedal, sensors for measuring a temperature of brake disks (or drums) and brake pads (or brake linings). The similar devices are used by car concerns during testing new vehicles as well as they are used by the research institutes that test the new vehicles for getting a test approval before introducing the vehicle into the market. This device enables us to select a proper friction material individually for each application.
According to Corrsys–Datron company the testing equipment purchased by us is the second one such modern measuring system in Poland. The reason of that is certainly a price, as its cost exceeds a price of two well equipped middle rate cars.
