The days 7th -10th June the BRECK brake pads were put on mountain tests in Austria, and more precisely – on a route running down a hill of 2400 meters above sea level, called Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse.

During the downhill runs a pressure in braking system, covered distance, accelerations, brake pedal load, brake fluid temperature and brake pads temperature were recorded. After crossing the mountain route the proper measurements were taken during a “hot-stop” test. This test consists in applying the brake to a vehicle from its initial velocity of 100km/h to its stoppage. It is essential that these conditions are highly extreme due to strong warm-up of disks and brake pads. The Corrsys-Datron measuring device was used for these tests. This device is owned by R & D department of LUMAG enterprise. On the pictures below you can see a contactless measuring module of distance and speed assembled on side door.
